Aquila handover Chelmsford shop to John Lewis
Aquila, developers of the new Bond Street shopping centre in Chelmsford, have formally handed over the shop to John Lewis for fitting out.
Due to open in September the shop will be the retailer’s first site in Essex. Laura Rawston, Branch Manager, John Lewis Chelmsford said:
‘We have had an ambition to open a shop in Essex for some time now, and the Bond Street development couldn’t be a better proposition for us. We are delighted to reach this milestone, with everything currently on track for a September opening.’
John Lewis Chelmsford’s 90,000 sq ft shop represents an £18m investment in Chelmsford by the retailer. As well as offering more than 65,000 fashion, beauty, home and electrical products, the shop will bring together the retailer’s best services, including an optician, a beauty treatment room, a Foreign Exchange bureau and a Nursery Advice Service. The shop will also feature a ‘Home Hub’, an area within the Home department that brings together all of John Lewis’ interior design services around a series of inspirational room sets.
The scheme links directly into the High Street and has attracted a number of high profile retailers including The White Company, Joules, Jack Wills, Fat Face and L’Occitane.
